If you follow ReBOUND on LinkedIn (if not, come join us!) then you may already be up to speed with the latest and greatest in the ReBOUND world, including the incredible accolades we’ve been awarded over the last few months.
But in case you missed the news, or just can’t get enough of ReBOUND, we’ve given a summary of our most recent awards below (a little humble brag never hurt anyone, right?).
The Lloyds National Business Awards - Scale-Up Business Of The Year
The Castle Corporate Finance Scale-Up Of The Year Award set out to “recognise a market leading increase in sales, headcount, profitability, market share or geographical expansion over the last 3 years”.
6 years ago we set out on a mission to transform perceptions of returns in the eCommerce industry. Starting out as just a team of 4, we had a huge task on our hands. We’ve grown exponentially since then, and have convinced over 500 global brands to join the returns revolution. While a lot has changed in the last 6 years, with the team growing to around 45 people, our mantra that returns are an opportunity, not just problem, has never altered.
The world isn’t short of phenomenal growth stories, so being invited as a finalist to pitch our growth story to a judging panel alongside 9 other incredible UK businesses was a real honour (although waiting for the awards evening was a killer!).
Previous winners at The Lloyd’s Bank National Business Awards have included Sir James Dyson, DPD UK, Hotel Chocolat, Minicabit, Missguided and more. So, to hear ReBOUND be announced as Scale-Up Of Business Of The Year was truly incredible (as evidenced by our uncontrollable cheering!).
Here’s what ReBOUND CEO, Graham Best, had to say about the win:
“This latest award really showcases ReBOUND’s achievements outside of our sector. We pride ourselves on being disruptors in the retail space and to have these achievements recognised by such prestigious awards really authenticates our high growth journey.”
You can also see a video of an on-the-night interview with Graham in the video below.
The Spectator Economic Disruptor Of The Year - Midlands Winners
Just 24 hours after our win at The Lloyds National Business Awards, we were thrilled to take home another accolade as winners of Economic Disruptor in the Midlands. There’s certainly no missing the luminous shade of pink from this trophy when you walk into the Telford office.
Back in July, ReBOUND Co-Founder Phil Smith was invited to deliver a pitch providing insight into the ReBOUND story, and spoke about how we first had to create the market we now dominate.
These awards seek out the companies “that are rewriting the rules, the game-changers that are redefining their own marketplace” and are a true “celebration of creative entrepreneurship throughout the UK”.
Here’s what The Spectator had to say about the finalists of the 2019 awards: “The winners were drawn from nearly 150 nominations from across the UK.The entrants have all been innovators, driven by real passion for what they do, and represent each of the different regions of the UK. The finalists are recognised as those with the greatest potential to scale-up: taking their ideas from the local to the national, and – from there – to the wider world.”
You can listen to the judges discussing ReBOUND and the other finalists in this podcast.
The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 - Ranked 10th
“The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s 100 private tech (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest three years. It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each September”- The Sunday Times Tech Track 100
We’re a company built on strong aspirations, so naturally, The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 has been on our radar for a few years. 2019 marked the first year we were eligible to apply for the Tech Track League Table, and so receiving confirmation that we had placed 10th in the league table was a fantastic milestone in ReBOUND’s history.
Ahead of the awards evening ReBOUND CEO, Graham Best, was invited to speak at a pre-dinner roundtable hosted by our investors BGF to share his experience driving a scale-up business. The roundtable, entitled “How to raise growth capital to finance fast-growing tech firms” was a first-hand account of the minefield of raising and deploying growth capital, from someone who’d lived it, providing valuable insights to all the start-up (soon to be scale-up!) businesses hot on our heels.
In attendance at the awards ceremony: Co-Founders Phil Smith & Graham Best, Joined by Chief Financial & Operating Officer, Caroline Green MBE.
Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace
In June of this year ReBOUND Chief Financial & Operating Officer, Caroline Green, was announced in the Queen’s honours list and was awarded an MBE for her services to the Economy and Charity (meaning Caroline is now a Member of the Order of the British Empire!). You can read more about the incredible work Caroline has done to earn here MBE in this blog.
At the end of October, Caroline was invited to her Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace where she received her MBE award from Her Royal Highness Princess Anne. The Investiture Ceremony is such a prestigious occasion, so we’re all hugely proud of Caroline and the work she’s done for the Economy and Charities.
There’s certainly been lots for the ReBOUND team to celebrate over the last few months, and judging by our champagne and pizza bill, we celebrated hard. Each award is a significant milestone for ReBOUND, so as we enter peak, we’re already looking forward to kicking off 2020 with an incredible team and looking at ways we can make next year even better!
