Career Story: Ana Teixeira

Ana, our newly promoted HR Officer, began at ReBound in January 2022 as Office Manager where she worked her way up to her current position. Originally from Northern Portugal, Ana received her bachelor’s degree before making the move to the Netherlands at the age of 22. 

“I wanted to live abroad, and it was perfect timing because I was finishing a job and ready to move,” says Ana. She chose the Netherlands because she could work in English, and since she was already an EU resident, getting a visa wasn’t an issue. “I came on a whim and stayed because I enjoy the country and the freedom that I have here,” she noted. 

After starting her career in the Netherlands as a photographer, Ana felt that it was time for a change after two years. “I wasn’t sure what I was looking for exactly,” she recalls. It was during this time that she came across a job listing for Office Manager at ReBound, a role that piqued her interest because of its broad range of responsibilities. 

After getting hired as Office Manager, she immediately became an integral part of ReBound that people from all parts of the organization relied on. She went far beyond her standard duties and responsibilities, taking on projects like filming and editing videos for marketing, designing posters for company events, and helping onboard new employees, including assisting with IT software setup. 

Ana quickly realized that the part of her job that she loved most was working with people and began thinking about transitioning to the HR department. “I wanted to get into HR because of the people,” she says. “I realized I could actually have a positive and meaningful impact on people’s lives at work.” 

In early 2023, Ana was given the opportunity to further explore this passion when she was promoted to HR Officer in Utrecht. “I’m excited to learn about all aspects of HR, including recruitment which is something I would like to develop my skills in,” she says. 

Throughout her career journey, Ana has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Since this is her first job in HR, she’s learning rapidly and is excited to take on more tasks as time continues. Ana credits her colleagues in the HR department for helping her learn and grow in her new role. 

Reflecting on her career journey thus far, Ana is grateful she made the move to the Netherlands and for the opportunity she’s been given at ReBound to grow in new directions. “Moving to the Netherlands was the best decision I ever made,” she says. “I’m excited to continue to develop in my new role as an HR Officer!”
